If the “Boys” crew didn’t exist, what was Vought’s contingency plan to take out Homelander?

Just for conversation sake, let’s say Homelander never r*pes Rebecca or A Train doesn’t kill Robin, hell maybe even soldier boy doesn’t kill any of MM’s family.

Stan Edgar essentially says how corporations like Vought exist to utilize profit and loss, everything else is a side story. He dunks on Homelander by saying Vought isn’t a Super Hero company, but a pharmaceutical one, and he is bad product.

The doctors who raised him admit he should have been raised in a loving environment and not like a lab rat. These conversations would have happened at some point without the involvement the Boys and Homelander would have lost his shit and gone on a rampage.

How was Vought going to take Homelander down once they realize he is no longer profitable or simply harmful and is costing them money to hide or have them employ like a building full of lawyers to protect the corporation?
