Capital One interview process
Looking for some insight from anyone who has recently interviewed with Capital One.
I completed my Power Day interview last week for a Senior Associate role. The day consisted of four interviews. The first round was heavily focused on SQL and was definitely my toughest interview. I was able to answer some questions but struggled with a few of the deeper technical SQL questions.
The other three interviews went very well. They were focused on behavioral and job-fit questions, and I felt confident in my responses. One interviewer even commented that my resume was “amazing” and seemed genuinely engaged throughout the conversation. Another interviewer told me not to worry too much about the SQL portion because the interview process is designed to evaluate candidates across multiple dimensions.
A few days later, the recruiter called me after I reached out for an update. She said there is currently a delay due to an internal recruiting process and that she would call me personally (not email) by the end of this week or early next week with an update. She also assured me it is nothing to do with interview or decision making, it‘s their internal.
For those who have been through Capital One’s hiring process:
- Did anyone feel they didn’t do great on one interview but still receive an offer?
- Has anyone experienced delays after Power Day?
- Is a recruiter saying they’ll personally call with an update generally a good sign, neutral, or does it not mean anything?
I’m trying not to overanalyze everything while I wait, but the uncertainty is tough. I’d love to hear about your experiences.
