NDIS changed my primary disability on their own without justification or apparent reason.

Activism/Advocacy

NDIS changed my primary disability on their own initiative and without clinical justification.

It was previously OCD and now it's ASD. ASD was previously a secondary disability among others. While ASD certainly does affect me, it's not my primary disability nor has it ever been. There is zero clinical support or justification for this change.

I've been asking why this occured since last year and have still been unable to get an answer as to why this was changed as it appears to be without reason and against NDIS policies.

All I heard was through my SC who said it was because they were wanting to not recognise psychosocial disabilities or something to that nature. The person who told her this was not willing to talk to me about it and passed me to another team who never offered an explanation.

The fact I can't even get a straight answer after so long is only more concerning, especially with the recent attacks on ASD and the NDIS.

Has anyone else had this happen before?
