Anyone else getting absolutely cooked trying to find a rental in melbourne?

applied to like 12 places over the past few months and got ghosted on almost all of them. no feedback

ended up going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what agents actually look for and learned heaps that i wish someone told me. stuff about how your cover letter matters a lot, how they calculate whether you can afford it, things in leases that are actually unenforceable.

started building a little app that helps with some of this stuff (cover letters, scoring your application, lease analysis). still early days but if anyone’s going through the same thing id love to hear what actually frustrates you about renting rn. trying to figure out what to build next
