Did anyone else have to give up their dream university because of money?
I don’t know if anyone can relate, but did anyone get accepted into their dream university or college and still not end up going because of financial problems?
Even after scholarships, the costs were still too much, and my parents couldn’t afford it. It honestly changed the way I looked at my future. I used to work hard because I had a goal, but after realizing I couldn’t go where I wanted, I lost a lot of motivation. My grades started dropping because it felt like all that effort was for nothing.
Maybe it’s a bad mindset, but sometimes I can’t help thinking: what’s the use of good grades when I can’t go where I wanted to go anyway? It feels like I spent years working toward a dream that I had to give up because of money, not because I wasn’t capable of getting there. That realization has been really hard to accept.
Has anyone gone through something similar? How did you deal with the disappointment and move forward? I feel stuck between accepting reality and grieving the future I thought I was going to have.I wanted to complete my degree now jumping between diplomas and certifications with not the best marks.
