Is SFU Co-Op For Comp sci Worth it?

I recently read a post here saying that SFU Co-op was very generic and mostly provided the typical advice and support you can get anywhere else like from LinkedIn, for example, and that it didn't necessarily help students land a SWE internship. Is this true? Should I sign up for it?
