Rant about a misunderstanding

A few weeks ago, I received a booking request from a client I hadn't worked with before. He requested one drop-in visit per day for his two cats over a 14-day period. The request came through Rover as 14 separate \*\*30-minute drop-in visits\*\*(see screenshot).

We agreed that I would come in the mornings. The 7:30–8:00 a.m. timeframe was flexible, but I always made sure to stay for approximately 30 minutes each visit. There was never ANY conversation about a 1 hour booking.

I met the client, picked up the key, met the cats, and started the visits on Sunday. My visit lengths were:

Sunday: 33 minutes
Monday: 30 minutes
Tuesday: 29 minutes
Wednesday (Today): 36 minutes

After each visit, I completed the Rover card as usual, and the client had been thanking me and hadn't raised any concerns about the schedule or the length of the visits.

Then, after I got home from today's 36-minute visit, I received this message:

"Hi \\\*name\\\*, just wanted to say how much we appreciate the care you provide \\\*CATS NAMES\\\*. We'd also appreciate it if you could stay for the full hour during each visit, as we had originally agreed. Thanks so much!"

I immediately panicked because I thought maybe I had somehow missed that the booking was for 60-minute visits. I went back and checked everything, the original request, the booking details, and what the client had paid for.

The booking was exactly what I thought it was: \*\*30-minute drop-in visits, once per day, for 14 days.\*\*

The rest of the conversation is in the screenshots, but essentially there was some back-and-forth because the owner seemed to think the booking included 30 minutes per cat (for a total of an hour). Eventually he understood that a 30-minute drop-in visit is 30 minutes total, regardless of whether there are one or two pets.

That said, I'm still pretty frustrated. He never apologized for the misunderstanding, and it bothers me that his first reaction was to assume I wasn't staying long enough instead of checking the booking details to see what had actually been requested and paid for.

Has anyone else run into something like this? How did you handle it? Can he just not see on his end the length of time he’s booked?
