What is wrong with my bite?
I went to the dentist today to get impressions for the night guard they'd been recommending to me for a while, and when they were taking the bite impressions they told me never mind as it actually seems like I need a lot of orthodontic work first.
I'm stressed about paying for a lot of orthodontic work and don't fully understand what is wrong with my bite. My back molars don't really touch top to bottom, but is that a big issue? They also mentioned I seem to have a tongue thrust, which I'd never actually noticed before, so maybe that has pushed my top teeth further out? The only thing that slightly cosmetically bothers me is that my bottom front teeth are extremely close together and one is a tad in front of the adjacent ones. Does anything else seem wrong? What would be the purpose of fixing my bite?
