Canon P + Jupiter 8 focus issues—is it the body or the lens?

Troubleshooting - Gear

having some frustrating focus issues with my Canon P. I’m shooting with a Soviet Jupiter 8 (50mm f/2) that I picked up off eBay a while ago, and almost an entire fresh new of roll of HP5 came out way out of focus.

Only shots that came out in focus were the "infinity focus" shots. Anytime I tried to focus in on something, they were all off.

I know it's not my scanning or developing setup, because I use the exact same process for my other cameras and those shots come out perfectly sharp.

Since it’s a rangefinder, I know compatibility can be weird. Is it more likely that my Canon P's rangefinder is out of calibration, or did I get a dud/uncalibrated Jupiter 8? How can I test which one is the culprit? Thanks!

First 2 images are perfectly focused (infinity focus)

The others are off focus

Sorry I did screenshots lol
