Subprompt - Camera/Voice/Text app to use with AI workflows
I just finished up and launched my first official Android app (2nd one coming soon). It was a great learning experience. I made it mostly with Claude Code.
The app is called Subprompt. See it here on the Play Store.
It came from a challenge I had. I set up Claude Cowork to use my Obsidian vault. I have scheduled tasks that will review folders for new notes and then action them.
One of my main flows was to take a picture of my food and then have Claude estimate the calories and add to my diet tracking.
The stumbling block came when I wanted to take a picture with my phone and have it automatially add it to my vault. At first I thought I just needed to sync my phone and desktop vaults and then find an app that would take a picture to a specific folder on my phone. But any of the photo apps I could find would allow me to use just any folder.
So I ended up building it out. And then I thought, what if I could embed the prompt instructions in the image so that maybe I wanted to take a picture of a reminder, then Claude could just read the image and do that task. So I built that in.
And then I added audio notes and text, because why not?
And then I added in multiple labels for different types of prompts, sub-labels, auto sharings. And more.
So even if you don't use Obsidian/Claude Cowork you can snap an image with the label you want and then send it directly to your LLM of choice without any additional instructions.
Give it a try and I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
