300k budget...where would you live?

Hi all....I am considering buying in the JC area. While I can go a bit over, my ideal budget is about $300k. I realize that my money would go further in areas like Union city and West New York. I have been in the burbs for a few years and miss living in a walkable place with public transit. The thing is that I really like having green space around me, especially after living in a quaint area for a few years. I realize that we can't have it all but I am trying to get pretty close to it!

Where would you recommend I look?
