A Homebrew Item to Honor My Player’s Late Grandma

Homebrew

One of the players in my group’s grandma died recently, and he’s missing the next session. We have a rule that if someone misses a session for any reason— and everyone agrees on it— we can continue the campaign in their absence and give the missing player a “consolation prize”, usually a magical artifact or a bundle of currency. Most times these absences are related to family events or holidays or work but this is the first we’ve gotten one due to a death in the family. He’s asked that we continue without him as we are in a side quest.

I don’t want to give him a typical “consolation prize.” If you could help me with forging a magical item to honor his grandma’s memory, I’d appreciate it.

For context, he’s a level 11 half elf warlock, and the captain of the pirate crew (this is a piracy campaign).
