i REALLY don’t think Jax is (SPOILER)

Alrighty, I see TONS of people talking about this since the finale came out, and I could totally understand how some people would come to the conclusion that Jax is trans, and I at least do think he’s queer (in a way) but the show’s own finale seems to contradict this supposedly “obvious” conclusion to Jax’s storyline and character arc. There’s two avenues of logical exploration I’ll be taking, PLEASE bear with me and PLEASE point out if I get anything wrong.

1st avenue- not honoring “her” pronouns

So, if the finale seems to point to Jax being a trans woman, why does the rest of the episode not honor his/her pronouns? Even when Caine finds the humans’ social medias, the show doesn’t switch pronouns at any point. Not even pomni refers to Jax as their “proper” pronouns despite LITERALLY seeing the “obvious” memory of him/her coming out to ribbit. It struck me as very odd, and the more I watched the episode the less I became convinced of jax being trans. Unless, of course, Jax is a trans man, but that obviously doesn’t align with the story he tells ribbit, so I won’t explore it further.

2nd avenue- alright, Jax is trans, now what?

Considering jax’s ultimate fate as being an abstraction, his whole trans allegory just ends up falling flat in the end. He isn’t able to be his true self like AT ALL but he’s in the pillow fort all day, we don’t even see him in the credits with the rest of the cast. He ultimately ends up feeling more and more like an allegory for caring for a dementia-ridden family member than an uplifting tale for trans folk everywhere, something I’d doubt the trans creator of the show would want the ultimate lasting message of the show to be.

Conclusion- jax is at least… queer? (+ bow tie answers)

Obviously Jax has to be queer, the embarrassment, the false masculinity, everything. The inability for the show to honor “her” pronouns genuinely leads me to think that Jax probably just enjoyed cross dressing, along with the blush with bow tie. Enjoying girly clothes =\= trans. This whole post may be controversial, but I honestly mean no ill will by it. If you guys can help me recognize any errors I’ve made by pointing them out, it’d mean a lot to me.
