31 [F4A] Online - My new boyfriend is uncomfortable by my kinky tattoos and I’m not sure what to do

My friend and I started to get a lot closer recently. We went out on several dates, have taken it a lot slower than I typically do, and we only slept with each other the first time over the weekend. I really like him and I’m glad we’ve taken it slow! When I was in my early 20, I got several very sexual tattoos in hidden/intimate places. Perhaps they’re a bit immature now, but they’re reflective of who I am and guys always enjoyed seeing them.

The day after we had sex we were texting and he said he was pretty shocked by my tattoos and didn’t understand why I got them or their meaning. We texted a bunch about them, I explained some, let him ask questions and stuff, and he admitted that they made him uncomfortable but it was fine.

Now I’m worried that this will be a bigger deal. I really like him and I feel like this could be a lot more mature of a relationship than I’ve had previously and I feel like I’m already messing it up. I’m just looking to talk and see what people think or if anyone’s had a remotely similar situation with a partner.
