Disappointing Results (But Not Losing Hope)
It took me a while to do research on GLP1 medications and decided to start last April of this year. Prior to subscribing, I have sort of established some baselines - TDEE, food intake, protein tracking, CICO, etc when it comes to weight loss but most of my efforts barely moved the scale down. I felt with GLP1s, it might help with weight loss, especially that I do running races and have a personal goal for the NYC Marathon which I have failed to reach for the past 3 attempts. Having that extra body weight is somehow preventing me from achieving my goal and I thought of getting to GLP1s will help me achieve my goal. To keep myself accountable, I track weight everyday and body measurements every week. I weigh upon waking up after doing #1 and #2 (if applicable).
I subscribed for the 12 week plan and currently on the third month (Week 1 of .75mL), and here are some milestones:
- Noticeable food noise reduction happened on the second week of M1 (2.5mg). No experiencing of nausea.
- The biggest weight loss happened during the second month M2 (5mg) - roughly 6kg lost. I had to remove/return the batteries of my weighing scale to ensure that it is not measuring wrong but yes, I saw 6kg reduction since I have started.
- From that point, the weight just went up again and currently I am on +3kg making effective weight loss to date to -3kg only.
- When I do strenuous cardio (eg indoor cycling), the weight goes down when I measure the following day but goes back again to current levels. For example, if I weigh today 102.5kg, after an indoor cycling class my weight tomorrow for the same structured meal plan, I might weigh 101.6/7 but goes back to the 102.xx kg levels the day after.
- My #2 isn't that regular and seems like bowel movement is every 2 days. Not sure if this has something to do with the slow bowel movement.
I am not in the best position to renew for another round as I got myself laid off from work and I have roughly have 3 weeks left with my meds. While the weight loss isn't something I am expecting, the following were some good practices/habits that I gained:
- As an Asian, I find myself surprisingly contented with less than a cup of rice per meal. I normally start with the veggies/protein before the rice and I end up consuming less than 1 cup.
- I find it not hard to stop eating around 6/7pm daily after hitting all macros and meals.
Just wondering from the community if there would be any ways I can improve on to at least make the weight loss kg go up. If I may be frank, the goal that I was planning for the 3 months is a 10kg loss but from the looks of it, I only got 3kg (to date).
