Is my Core 2.1 cooked?

Friend took my core out and forgot to dump the little amount of water that gets stuck in the middle bubbler.
They brought it back and before I used it a few hours later, I found some water in the bottom bucket below the atomizer. None visibly where the screw of the atomizer goes.
I cleaned it with iso & water and let it dry for a few minutes. When I dry ran it again, I first heard a bit of a crackling sound, and there was a bit of smoke coming from it (despite the dry run), and smelt like something was burning…
I only ran it three times because i’m scared it might blow up on me lmao but there’s no blue warning signs for short circuit or any other flashes.
Anybody else dealt with this or have recommendations on making sure the battery isn’t shot?
