2006 Honda Civic – Minor valve cover gasket leak, safe to leave parked for 2 months?
I have a 2006 Honda Civic. During a recent inspection, the mechanic noted that the valve cover gasket is leaking but said it’s minor and not urgent to replace. He told me it should be fine for another 6k
I normally don’t see any oil spots when driving the car regularly. However, after leaving it parked for 10 days, I noticed an oil puddle on the ground
The oil was changed right before I parked left , so it should have been at the full mark.
I’ll be away for about 2 months, but someone will be driving the car every 2–3 weeks to keep it running. My main concern is whether it’s safe for them to drive it during that time. Would you be comfortable having someone drive it periodically with a minor valve cover gasket leak, assuming the oil level was full when it was parked?
Thanks
