I made a browser that beats thorium in benchmark test
Hey everyone,
I'm Pahal Desai, a 16 year old student who wants to build his own fast and minimalistic browser.
For the past few months I've been working on a Chromium-based browser called Neovex.
What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession. I spent way too many late nights digging through Chromium source code, experimenting with build flags, testing optimizations, breaking everything, fixing it, and doing it all over again.
Today I ran a Speedometer 3.1 comparison between Thorium and Neovex on the same machine and got these results:
- Thorium: 12.1 ± 0.53
- Neovex: 13.3 ± 0.66
Screenshot attached.
Before anyone asks, I want to say that:
- They were tested on the same hardware
- Tested in the same testing environment
- Both are chromium-based browsers
- I'm Not claiming Neovex is the fastest browser in the world
- More testing is planned
Apart from performance, Neovex also focuses on privacy:
- Telemetry is disabled by default
- Browsing history stays on your device
- No collection of browsing activity
I'd genuinely love feedback from people who know browsers better than I do.
What benchmarks should I run next?

Thanks for checking it out :)
