Beginner Dinner to Cook for Boyfriend

To preface, I cannot cook. At least not well. I am notoriously abysmal as I was never taught growing up and haven’t taken the time to teach myself. I’d really like to cook something for my boyfriend as a special surprise but am not sure where to start. I’m looking for easy recipes/ideas that look and taste high-quality.

The spectrum of my skills range from I have never cooked meat to I can kind of cook pasta.
