Moving to Canada After Earning My Master’s, LPCC, and LADC to Be With My Girlfriend—Looking for Advice

Rant - Advice wanted :snoo_scream:

So, as the title says, I’m planning to move to Canada after I complete my master’s degree. By then, I expect to have earned my LPCC and LADC licenses, but I’m not sure what to expect when it comes to working in Canada with those credentials.

I’m curious about how transferable these licenses are, what the job market is like for counselors and addiction professionals, and whether there are any additional requirements I should be aware of. More generally, I’d like to know what career opportunities are available in the field and what the transition from the U.S. to Canada might look like.

My long-term goal is to open my own private practice and collaborate with other professionals in related fields. I’d appreciate any advice or insights from people who have made a similar move or work in mental health and addiction services in Canada. Thank you!
