Last year because of budget constraints, I got a NIMO 15/16 inch light gaming laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U (8 cores), 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, AMD Radeon 680M iGPU, and IPS FHD screen.
The first thing I did when I got it was switch the power mode to high performance. Overall, it’s been really smooth to use, but if you plan on gaming for long stretches, I’d recommend a laptop cooler to keep things stable. I mainly play Left 4 Dead 2 (with heavy mods) and Silent Hill 2, and I’ve never had crashes or major frame drops. For a lightweight laptop, it really gets the job done, and I’d give it an 8.5/10. I’m taking off 1.5 points mainly because I recently got into Elden Ring, and this kind of AAA game really pushes the 680M iGPU. You cant play it, but it was just.. normal. Overall, this laptop is great for students and general daily use, but not ideal for big AAA titles. I also saw that NIMO teased a new product recently , seems like a ready to go gaming console that doesn’t require any DIY setup. As someone who doesn’t really want to mess with hardware, that sounds really appealing. If it can handle something like Elden Ring and the price is reasonable, I’d probably pick one up.
Is anyone else here using NIMO devices? How has your experience been over the past year? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
