How does a Huawei Internship look to US companies?

Just for context, I'm a Chinese-Canadian (though I was born in Canada, have Canadian citizenship, and have lived here all my life) at the University of Waterloo, currently in the process of looking for my first internship. I just got an opportunity to work at Huawei for 8 months on AI and HCI, which are both topics which I think are interesting.

I'm leaning towards taking it given how cooked the internship search was and the fact that Huawei is a fairly recognizable name, however, I'm just a bit worried about taking it given current US-China relations. Would a Huawei internship make it more difficult to find co-ops in the US afterwards? Would it make background checks much harder, given the fact that I am Chinese as well?
