2 years after surgery and my EMG shows my nerve is just as damaged as it was pre surgery
I had relief for about a year and a half post surgery, and then 6ish months ago the tingling returned. I kept hoping that it was just due to cold weather, or maybe exacerbated by spring allergies, but went back to my surgeon and they wanted a repeat EMG. Got it done on monday and the doctor said the nerve has demyelination equal to what it showed over 2 years ago.
I just feel so defeated. I went through recovery and OT and a very expensive surgery just for my nerve to be exactly the same. My doctor wants to do a revision surgery, removing any scar tissue and doing a transposition (first surgery was just a release and removal of anconeus muscle, and now nerve is snapping over the bone).
Has anyone had success with a revision transposition surgery in this situation? Or is it better to leave it as is, and not get into revising the original operation?
