fiber gummies are making me so bloated i cant even sit through my commute anymore

So i'm standing in my kitchen this morning holding two different bottles of fiber gummies i bought off amazon — one's the store brand from king soopers and one came in a subscribe-and-save order i forgot i even set up — and neither of the supplement facts panels actually tells me anything useful about why i feel like a balloon by 10am. i started taking them because my doctor mentioned i wasn't getting enough fiber and i thought gummies would be easier than like, mixing powder into stuff. but the bloating is genuinely bad. i work in denver and even on days when i drive instead of taking the light rail i'm just uncomfortable the whole time. it's been like three weeks.

I tried cutting back to one gummy instead of two and that helped a little but honestly i can't tell if that's placebo or what. i also tried taking them at night instead of morning and that just meant i woke up feeling gross instead of getting bloated on the way to work. one of the bottles has chicory root listed and the other has inulin and i looked both up and apparently they're basically the same thing?? so maybe i just can't handle that ingredient at all. i don't really know enough about this stuff to figure it out from the label alone.

Has anyone dealt with this and actually figured out what helped? like is there a type of fiber that's less likely to do this or do i just need to start way lower and work up slow? i don't want to waste more money on something else that sits on the shelf. the winters here are dry enough that i'm already taking like four other things for skin and sleep and i really dont want to add another useless gummy to the pile.
