my brother used AI to make a speech at my birthday

It was my birthday a couple of days ago — a big event with family and friends. I knew my parents were going to make speeches for me (my mom wanted to) but to my surprise, my brother ended up making one too. It was sweet and out of character for him, as he’s not one for a lot of words.

After, my mom jokingly asked if he used ChatGPT to write it for him. He laughed and said no, he actually used Gemini.

The way my heart sank. I love my brother so much and look up to him but this literally broke my heart. I can’t believe he used AI for that— I would rather he didn’t make a speech at all. I can’t believe I matter so little to him that he would outsource a couple words of congratulations and affection to an algorithm.

The crazy part is no one else seemed to care. Even after he revealed that he used Gemini, my parents were still congratulating him on what a nice speech he made. I couldn’t even look at him.
