AITAH for NOT reporting a dog that bit me?

A while back (maybe a year or longer) I was bit by a dog owned by a house that borders my apartment complex’s parking lot. It was one small bite at the ankle and when I screamed/yelled at it out of shock it ran off.

Due to it not continuing to attack me, I got in my fiancees car and we went to the ER to get it treated. It was small enough of a wound they just flushed it and gave me bandaids. When I went to work the following day or the day after that I recounted the story and a (now ex) coworker told me I should have reported it to the police so the dog could be put down and she was angry enough to basically yell that she would ask to shoot the dog herself.

I ask this because I saw on a different social media site people talking about what to do if a dog is charging you and some people said they’d kill it for simply charging them, and it reminded me of the interaction with that coworker. There has been no incidents since I was bit (that I’m aware of) and the owners have installed a completely new fence since. Obviously I’m not going to report it this late out, but I’m curious if I actually the AH in the scenario compared to what my coworker thinks I should have done. I would have hated knowing I got a dog killed though.
