Math problems

Hello, this is a throwaway account so I might not reply. I'm 14, the school year ended not too long ago and I failed math with like a 30%. Of course I am in summer school right now but I feel like I've gotten worse at math, I don't know why but anytime I read any instructions I seem to understand when I'm reading it but after I actually start answering questions I just forget it completely. I really want to give up and just retake it next school year because I'm so awful at it but it'll just be the same results next school year. I feel like it's just a repeat of understanding during the instructions but when I start answering my brain shuts off and forgets everything I read. Obviously there is some solution to this but it really does feel like I've tried them all and nothing has worked. Sorry for the yap session I just wanted to get this off my chest because I've really wanted to talk about this.
