AIO? I want to pull my son out of daycare his first week in after finding out how much time they’re spending outside
My son will be 2 in a few months and we’ve just started daycare since his dad and I both work and my mom who’s been watching him up until now is having health problems. He’s gone 4 days so far and 2 days ago when my husband picked him up he was beat red and had sweat so much that his hair was completely wet, and he had sweat through his clothes so badly he felt like if I had sprayed him down with a hose.
We live in Texas and that day it was 95° (Fahrenheit) and they had been outside for about 40 minutes at that point. When I got home around the same time as hubby and son it took us almost half an hour to get him cooled down and settled. When my husband picked him up today it was earlier in the day and they hadn’t gone out for the afternoon yet he made sure to ask how much time they’re spending outside and they told him half an hour around 11 AM and a full hour at 4 pm.
I also learned that they have him in a class that the age group is 2-3 year olds bc they don’t have a teacher for his class yet even though they said they’d have one starting this week, because of that they have him on an 11-1 ratio but when I looked up the ratios for kids under two his age range is supposed to be 9-1
I’m worried I might be overreacting since this is our first daycare experience ever but it seems like a safety concern to me and my poor guys sunburnt, I wasn’t raised in Texas is this a normal thing down here?
