Moto G 2026 Issues with Texts

I just got a Moto G 2026 and I'm having issues texting with Google Messages. I can't receive any texts. It also says that my messages aren't being sent, the the recipient is actually getting them.

Restarting the phone fixes this sometimes, but only temporarily, and then it goes back to having the same issues. In case it matters, I'm on T-Mobile and I bought the phone directly from them. Any ideas what the issue could be here?
