I think I messed up a friendship pretty badly and have been spiraling out about it. We met 4 months ago and hit it off like a house on fire. She shared that she was feeling numb and burnt out job hunting, and that she felt like a burden to others. She mentioned feeling numb to everything. I got worried and asked if she was safe like an idiot; ik she’s not going to do anything but I still asked like a moron instead of continuing to reassure her. I also don’t think I responded super empathetically, and my major fuck up was telling her if she’s thought about sharing this with her loved ones irl, because she immediately shut down the conversation about it afterwards and thanked me for listening before she stopped replying. I sent another message apologizing for pressing but I haven’t heard from her since, though it’s only been like half a day.

She’s sent one general message in another server we’ve both in so ik she’s okay at least. That should be enough but I’ve been crying on and off about how badly I’ve probably fucked it up all day. Ik I’m likely being stupid and overdramatic but I’ve never had a close friend like this before… we have one other mutual friend in that gc but those two were friends much longer than either of them were friends with me. I’ve always felt strongly, but I feel so stupid being in tears over this. I just want to support my friends like they do for me but i always mess it up

Food pictured is a sad person’s chole salad :( i needed a comfort food but didnt have all the ingredients
