Two cycles and three interviews later - rejected
Going to partly be a vent - sorry in advance
I applied for a role back in January for a learning and development role, I had a phone screening, followed by a zoom interview. About a month went by with no word. got an automated rejection email early March.
In Mid April the job was re-posted. Turns out they were hiring two people for this position. The day after I applied they reached out to schedule an in-person interview. I interviewed in person.
They mentioned how i was further along in the process. I got the sense two of the people liked me. The person in the middle seemed pensive about me during the interview looking bad. She would have been my team member, not who I reported to.
My sibling also works at this company, but would have been in a different department. this was mentioned in the last interview at the beginning.
I do wonder if that somehow hurt me? He's a fairly strong employee though.
Got an individualized rejection email Tuesday (June 9th) from the HR person in the first round who loved me. She thanked me for my time and mentioned there was a well-qualified candidate pool.
So effing annoyed. Getting three interviews deep with time invested preparing, getting the suit cleaned, readying myself for the questions.
This job would have been a huge pay raise for me and my family. Feeling like a failure.
