PWP_DiamondSupply review (Point West Pavilion) — STAY AWAY

Consumer Post

Hello everyone! I’ve unfortunately had a terrible experiencing buying a wedding ring and I wanted to prevent anyone from making a similar mistake.

I bought from Mark at Point West Pavilion after he reached out to me on Reddit. We had a good conversation, he worked with me to design the ring, and shipped me a very pretty ring. However the build quality of the ring was poor and the center stone came loose in less than 2 weeks of wear. We tried retightening and adding more gold to the prongs (via a local jeweler) and ended up sending the ring back to Mark for fixing. Throughout this process he regularly goes weeks without responding to my effort at reaching out — providing reasons like “I didn’t have access to my computer” (so our only method of communication was Instagram DM) and “I went on vacation”. It’s been extremely frustrating.

About 1 month ago he sent the ring back to me and the middle stone came loose again, within 2 weeks of normal wear. Over the last year, my fiancee has had her ring for 2 months total because of all of the issues. We are about to get married in a couple of months and we are ring-less as a result.

Mark is essentially ignoring my emails and messages and so I’ll just have to buy my fiancee another ring from a reputable local jeweler and eat the lost expense — very difficult for us because she is a teacher and I am an EMT about to go to grad school.

Here is a statement from a very reputable local Jewler (who we’ll be working with to make the new ring) concerning the build quality of the ring I got back from Mark after the “fixes”:

“We believe that the engagement ring mounting purchased by \*\*\* is made inferiorly for the following reasons. The gold of the head is not thick enough to support itself. The ends of the oval mounting are floating without support and have begun to sag, leading to a chronically loose center stone. The side stones that might have provided some support for the head are free floating (did not provide a gallery wire for the center stone) which means which means the weak head is bringing them down along with it. Our jeweler has tightened the center and marquis stones several times, but they do not stay tight due to the inadequate design. The design used as little gold as possible to lower the cost of the ring, which has led to a complete failure. This ring cannot be worn without risking losing diamonds.”

Stay away!
