Anyone Replaced Their Shifter Bushings?

Hi y'all,

I've got '14 BRZ with 92k miles on I picked up about a year ago. Have caught up on most of the maintenance that wasn't done (clutch master/slave, whole clutch assembly, spark plugs, serpentine belt, trans fluid so far) and I'm loving the car in general. But the shifter has been leaving me slightly disappointed.

Maybe 25% of the time it will be impossible to get it into 1st from a stop, needing a 2-1 shift and repressing clutch, or it will rattle when shifting from 1-2 before the gear engages. About 50% of the time the shifts will feel mushy, instead of notchy (which I don't mind). The stick otherwise doesn't have any play or misalignment that I can tell.

I've been thinking of getting the shifter bushing replaced because I'm thinking they may be worn which is causing the subpar shifting experience. Possibly the linkage too if it comes to that.

Does anyone have experience with replacing these parts? I'd get it done at a shop but I'm curious if this has improved shifter feel/engagement for anyone.

Any other suggestions? Maybe a weighted shift knob? Car is completely stock.

Thanks in advance!
