About a month ago, I had a dream about being stuck in an endless void. I recorded my thoughts as soon as I woke up. It has really stuck with me. I shared the dream once previously in a smaller subreddit. Upon sharing it, I would soon learn that others have had eerily similar dreams/experiences. One user shared a link to a post with their dream that very closely resembled mine. Then Another user chimed in saying this so called “void” was a physical place where they have actually been.

My dream was my first exposure to anything resembling a void. But, the more I thought about it, the more odd I found it that myself and others have had and continue to have such similar experiences. So similar, I fact, that we have all described the place we had experienced as a “Void”.

Tonight, I stumbled upon another post mentioning dreams about a void. It was right at that moment that I knew I had to share my experiences here.

What could possibly be the reason behind myself and so many others dreaming about this strange void? I myself find this anomaly deeply unsettling. But, I’d love for you to chime in with your thoughts/experiences!

My full dream is below. I will do my best to link to the other posts I mention in the comments below. Take care!

In my dream, Everything was just darkness. Keep in mind, This was not the kind of darkness where you can still make out shapes or surroundings. This felt total. It was like I was stuck in a never ending black void.

While in this void, I kept hearing this deep, growling wind. One thing that stood out to me was that It was not constant. The wind would surge in hard, then fade out, over and over again, almost like guttural breathing from the void building up to something I could not see.

There wasn’t really anything else happening. Just me, the total darkness of the void, and that sound of the deeply unsettling wind fading in and out. I felt as though I needed to escape it, but I couldn’t take any action. On top of that, somehow it felt like I was there forever. It lasted way longer than a normal dream should last imo. It seemed like time stretched out or maybe even stopped completely.

I woke up feeling exhausted, like I had actually been somewhere instead of just being in a dream.
