Tarrant county DWI questions answered
I want to start by saying everyone’s situation is different and judges are also different. The specific charge I’m referring to is class b misdemeanor for DWI.
Here are some FACTS…
If you are on deferred adjudication then you are eligible for early termination. It will say in your file WHEN you are eligible. Ask your lawyer or PO. Typically it’s 1/3 of your term. That being said most wait until 1/2 minimum.
You will need a lawyer to file a motion for early termination and response time is approximately 30 days.
Hair tests for early termination is NOT mandatory. NOT even a UA or court appearance is mandatory. This decision is up to the judge. That being said it’s best to make sure you can pass either before you apply.
Once the judge grants early termination you are finished the moment the ink dries. Just make sure your lawyer gives you a copy.
Godspeed ladies and gentlemen.
