Power Trip Mates

(Im so sorry but I need to vent) BROOOOO IM SO SICK OF THIS SHIT. This is not my first store, will definitely not be the last, but oh my god I am so sick of mates who are hyper focused on becoming captain that they completely forget to actually be a good manager. My last store it was a “boys club” because the captain never promoted women unless transferred in, and at this one it’s like we’re stuck with a group of mean girls who peaked in high school/were bullied and are now power hungry. It truly feels like they have never touched grass before. We work for a huge corporation- we sell groceries, and that’s it! I can’t keep going in every day having to mentally prepare for how to adhere to each mate’s preferences/issues. They’re never on the same page with one another, let alone the captain. They want us to “take initiative” but then question every move you make. It’s constantly having to tip-toe around them and it’s become incredibly mentally draining. I don’t have the patience for people who are above me but somehow never learned how to speak to another human being. Flat out rude comments about/to the crew and even to the captain himself- but nothing ever changes. I could keep going but GHATDAMMIT I’m PEEEEIIIIIIIISSSSSTTTTTTT OFFF. Thank you for listening, xoxo
