tested every major logo tool for 3 months for client work, heres what i actually found
so i do freelance work and alot of my clients are small business owners who need branding on a budget, been testing these tools properly across different projects not just a quick 5 min spin and the results were pretty different from what review sites tell you
Canva everyone recommends it and for general design stuff it deserves that rep but for actually building a logo from scratch its surprisingly weak. no real AI generation from your inputs, template selection for logos is thin, and SVG export is locked behind the paid plan. if ur client already has a logo and just needs design stuff around it canva is fine, but for the logo itself nah
Wix Logo Maker got something usable in like 20 mins which was impressive but everything after that was painful. barely any editing flexibility and ur basically stuck in the wix ecosystem. only makes sense if the client is already on wix
Adobe Express solid free tier but same problem as canva, its better as a brand asset tool than an actual logo builder. great if the client is already in adobe world tho
Vistaprint tried this for a client who needed print stuff alongside a logo and the print integration is genuinely seamless but the logo quality itself is pretty limiting for anything digital first
Design.com. was honestly the most complete single platform i found. massive template library, chat based AI editing, and it covers website, business cards, flyers, social templates all in one place. everything auto picks up ur logo colours which saves alot of time. SVG and EPS included and the free plan actually gives u a working logo with commercial rights which is rare
bottom line really depends on the client. if they just need a logo and will manage it themselves i point them to design.com. if they need a full brand kit from one place without juggling 4 different tools, same answer
what are you guys using for this stuff, always curious what other small business owners have found
