Do I still need antidepressants?

Hi there! Looking forward to people’s experiences here.
I take 75mg venlafaxine; and have just finish my tritiation for ADHD meds. (72mg methylphenidate)
But now I want to start coming off the venlafaxine, my logic being: my ADHD meds should be medication the cause, where as the antidepressants have always been medicating a symptom. My dr agrees and has said it’s worth trying. So she’s halved my venlafaxine for a month. And after the month said to stop taking it completely. But I just wondered what other people’s experiences have been like doing this?
I felt really good on both together, but I don’t wanna keep taking a medication I might no longer need now I’m taking meds for the real reason!
