cleaning a shared/communal top loader: 1/2 C citric acid?
my first attempt at using tips from this sub in my shared communal laundry where folks are huge fans of way too much everything especially scented junk. i have some good detergent now, but want to clean the machine first because i am very sensitive to scents.
i also have some some citric acid and was going to throw 1/2 C in there alone on the hottest longest wash, to clean it a bit before i do some laundry. rinses are all cold (i promise i will Google the manual to see if there's a secret cleaning cycle button press combo to do a sanitize or sterilize or clean cycle)
other than that anything else i should know or do? does that sound like an okay place to start? from what i've gathered here 1/2 C of citric acid in a top loader is indeed often sufficient to clean it out but again keep in mind this thing is shared, no idea if it's ever been cleaned, etc. in fact as i say this, famous last words....? will try to get some pics of the process
