My boyfriend felt insecure because of me 😭

So I told him when are you going to get me a promise ring 😭idk man , he is so new to all this, he is like what is promise ring . I told him everything he told me when I will start earning I will get you one . Btw my boyfriend is not earning and he save money for me from his pocket money, he loves to spend on me . But after sometime i texted him and told him don't worry about promise ring I want a gold one and it's expensive , I will get it from my own money for myself, now he is doubting himself saying Im not doing enough for you ? Everything will get measured my efforts everything on the basis of one ring ? He felt so bad for this , he thinks I'm giving him a taunt that he can't afford.. what should I do now
