Infant circumcision: small tissue tag at circumcision line 1 month post procedure
7 week old male infant, circumcised at two weeks old
Since the circumcision, there has been a small pink, pointed tissue projection on the underside of the circumcision line near the glans. It has been present from the beginning and appears unchanged.
The circumcision provider reviewed photos and told us this is a common finding that often resolves over the next few months. A second opinion urologist said it will not disappear and will require surgery/anesthesia when he's older.
No concerning symptoms: • Urinating normally • No bleeding • No discharge • No redness or swelling • No apparent discomfort
Questions:
Does this appear to be a mucosal tag, skin tag, residual foreskin tissue, or something else?
Is it common after infant circumcision?
In your experience, do these typically flatten or disappear with time?
If they persist, do they generally become less noticeable as the penis grows?
