Can I use a copy I already own or should I just buy a new copy? [Switch 1] [Gen 1] [BOTW/TOTK]

So I recently bought a Generation One Nintendo Switch without all of the patches and fixes so I can mod Nintendo games, however here's one thing I'm particularly considered about. I have 3 switches, two for family use, and the one I bought for personal use, however the game I want to mod is Breath of The Wild and Tears of The Kingdom, but people in my family still play those games. If I were to use the copy I already have and mod it and then it gets used on another switch, will that switch get banned? Would it just be safer to just buy a new copy?
