What monitor upgrade ended up being the most noticeable for you: higher refresh rate, higher resolution, or a larger screen?

Discussion

I've seen people argue for all three, and after reading a lot of monitor discussions, there never seems to be a clear consensus.

Some people say going from 60Hz to 144Hz+ completely changed how smooth everything feels, not just gaming but everyday use as well. Others say resolution was the biggest jump because of the added screen space and image clarity. Then there are people who swear that increasing screen size or moving to an ultrawide had the biggest impact on their overall experience.

What's interesting is that a lot of these upgrades are hard to appreciate until you've actually used them for a while. On paper one might seem more important than another, but real-world experience can be very different.

I'm looking at upgrading my monitor soon, so I'm curious what ended up making the biggest difference for you in day-to-day use, and whether it was what you expected beforehand.
