Employment lands being converted into housing

When the Region has only grown by 90 people last year and the Kitchener Chamber of Commerce is advocating for more employment lands in Kitchener.. why are employment lands being converted into housing? What is the point of the ION if employment lands aren’t being protected? Why even bother having the ION if it’s just going to be housing in Kitchener?

I can’t be the only one questioning this. First there’s a loss of jobs in the neighbourhood and then more people are being added to that same neighborhood. It really doesn’t make sense. Once you lose that employment land, its hard to get it back in that area.
