Grasping research and analysis

When it comes to IB, its pretty obvious that no other board prepares you for the research and analytical skills required for your IAs, EE, TOK, and English lang and lit (Ig IGCSE Literature still helps with sm).

So people for whom research, coming up with topics, and analysis doesn't come naturally, how have you come to adjust to the IB? Just asking cause it seems crazy that people can get used to it.
