Questions for my backwater domain.
The domain I’m developing (I’m writing a “By Night” style companion piece for it) is set in Iowa City, a Big Ten University town. The idea here is that a group of enterprising young Kindred pioneers that were fed up with Elder rule but not quite radical enough for the Anarch revolt set up shop in the city as it was being developed, and thus had an unorthodox Camarilla doctrine. Embraces were fairly common due to the first Prince having an obsession with building a prestigious lineage and the tradition never quite went away, Thin-bloods (while separated) were offered protection, and it was ruled by neonates and ancillae from the 1840s onward.
I’m thinking of having a lot of exiles from Chicago here sent as punishment (getting banished to a loser domain where any attempt towards power is pitiful probably sucks) but my question is: is there a precedent for political exile from Chicago, or other major domains for that matter? The Camarilla usually dishes out final death for dissent, right?
