Search warrants should be abolished
Search warrants only protect criminals and people who have something to hide. If you aren’t doing anything wrong you should have no problem having your house searched if the police show up.
How many lives would this save? How much abuse and neglect can be ended for children and adults alike if you didn’t have to spend so much time collecting evidence just to search a home? And what about the abuse no one knows of? Or the neighborhood kiddy lover with his dark web network installation. Those could be uncovered if police were doing random searches.
Of course there would then need to be stricter rules about what is considered a felony. A bag of weed or coke in a drawer shouldn’t qualify you as a criminal but a filthy house with children sleeping in a soiled mattress should.
Overall I think it would make it harder for criminals to hide if time wasn’t wasted collecting evidence for a search warrant and more crimes would be solved.
