Fun fact: kVATools.io quietly saves your work β€” and it never leaves your browser πŸ”Œ

Ever filled out a calculator, accidentally closed the tab, and felt that little jolt of dread? On kVA Tools, that dread is unnecessary. Every tool autosaves as you type. Come back an hour (or a week) later and your inputs are right where you left them β€” no "Sign in to continue," no account, no cloud.

So where does it actually go? Here's the fun part: nowhere. It lives in something called localStorage β€” a tiny storage box built directly into your web browser. Every site gets its own little locker (around 5 MB), and kVA Tools uses its locker to stash a snapshot of whatever you're working on. That snapshot sits on your device only. It's never uploaded, never sent to a server, never seen by me or anyone else. No login means there's literally nowhere for it to be sent. Same no-trackers, no-ads philosophy as the rest of the suite.

A couple of nerdy details for the curious:

  • It's per-browser, per-device. Start a load schedule on your laptop in Chrome, and it won't magically appear on your phone or in Firefox β€” each browser has its own locker.
  • Clearing your browsing data or using private/incognito mode wipes it. That's a feature, not a bug.
  • The two reset buttons behave differently on purpose: New Project = fresh start (clears everything and the project name, after a confirm); Reset Inputs = blanks the fields but keeps your project name.

For anything you want to keep permanently or share with a colleague, hit Export β€” that drops a real .json file you own and can re-import anytime.

TL;DR: your work follows you around automatically, costs nothing, and stays entirely on your machine.
