Background check

I received an offer from Bank of America in London. I lived in the U.S. for three years before moving to the UK and I’m concerned about the background screening process.

While in the U.S., I experienced some credit difficulties and accumulated about $10k of debt. There were no court judgments, bankruptcies, or legal proceedings, but I did miss payments and the accounts moved into collections. I settled around half of the debt last week and am working to resolve the remainder.

My current UK credit score is very good. Do you think these past U.S. credit issues are likely to be identified during the background check, and could they result in the offer being rescinded?
