ocXcanon, is aging up canon character alright?

i have an oc who i thought would have a fun dynamic with merida brave & never thought abt possibility of shipping them until recently

but then, i watched the movie such a long time ago and completely forgot that merida was 16

so idk if to drop it or not

(on the side, it was supposed to be a qpr because of aroace merida hc & my oc being aro, considered maybe a bit ace too)
